Preserving and celebrating the living dance traditions of the Silk Road.

Silkroad Art Preservation Collective is a Bay Area–based nonprofit dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich dance traditions of the historic Silk Road. Through original performances and culturally rooted programming, we bring to life the diverse heritage of Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur, Dai, Wa, and other minority cultures. Our work extends beyond the stage. We partner with schools, libraries, festivals, and community organizations to make these traditions accessible to all—offering family-friendly performances, educational workshops, and interactive experiences that engage audiences of every age.
Our theater productions feature 100% original choreography, brought to life through immersive storytelling and handcrafted, custom-designed costumes.
Our school programs combine interactive workshops, demonstrations, and performances to foster creativity, cultural awareness, and hands-on learning.
We bring accessible dance experiences to community spaces—libraries, festivals, and senior centers—prioritizing outreach to underserved communities.
Whether at libraries, schools, local festivals, senior centers, hospitals, or rehabilitation facilities, our programs are adaptable, interactive, and welcoming. We create inclusive experiences that engage residents of all ages, fostering connection, joy, and cultural appreciation within the community.
Your donation directly supports essential production and program needs—including theater rentals, lighting design, costumes, equipment, and meals and transportation for our dancers.
Our next milestone production will feature more than twenty original dance works by our Artistic Director Ms. Baigali. Drawing from Mongolian, Chinese, Tibetan, Uyghur, and other dance traditions, the program offers a rare opportunity to experience these cultures up close at the Hammer Theatre Center, San José State University.
